Complete website migration from custom build to Framer CMS, eliminating development bottlenecks and enabling international expansion with locale support for US and UK markets.

01. Problem

BitPay's custom-built website required developer time for any content changes, creating bottlenecks for marketing updates. With expansion into international markets requiring locale support (US and UK), the team needed a solution that would consolidate scattered content platforms (separate blogs, resources) while reducing development dependencies.

Every website update required developer allocation, slowing down marketing initiatives and content publishing workflows.

02. Solution

I advocated for and led migration to Framer CMS after evaluating platforms like Webflow with the marketing team. Framer won due to its simplicity and potential for visual development. I personally handled 70% of the implementation, including CMS setup, locale configuration, and component library creation.

The new system enables marketing and design teams to make updates independently while maintaining secure deployment processes and design consistency.

03. Process

I managed the complete migration from October to December 2024, moving the entire site while defining components and styles to ensure consistency. Developers now only handle custom code components and review changes before deployment, rather than implementing every content update.

The migration eliminated the fragmented platform approach, consolidating blogs and resources into one unified system.

04. Impact

Eliminated development bottlenecks that previously required 1-2 developers every few weeks for site updates. Marketing team now updates content independently, dramatically improving publishing speed. The site achieved blazing fast load times and improved SEO performance while supporting international expansion with built-in locale capabilities.
