I architected and built BitPay's comprehensive design system from the ground up, leveraging Figma's most advanced capabilities including variables for design tokens, sophisticated component variants, and responsive auto layout systems. The system provides a unified foundation for all product teams, ensuring consistent user experiences while dramatically improving design and development efficiency across the BitPay ecosystem.
As Lead Product Designer, I conducted an audit of existing design patterns across all BitPay products, then architected a scalable system that leverages Figma's latest features for maximum efficiency. I created comprehensive variable structures for colors, typography, and spacing, built intelligent component libraries with advanced variants and properties, and established documentation and governance processes. My approach focused on creating a system that scales with the team while maintaining design quality and consistency.
